BRITE 2024 Teacher’s Training Workshop (July 8-25)

This three-week program welcomes middle and high school teachers into the labs at Baylor College of Medicine. Through hands-on research experiences and exposure to cutting-edge biotechnology at various Advanced Technology Cores, teachers will develop lesson plans to implement in their classrooms, enhancing their Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) instruction.

  • Applications open through April 26.
  • Accepted teachers will be notified by May 17.
  • Participants who complete the program will receive a $2,500 stipend.

BRITE partners research technology training experience with scientific literature reading and professional development, all aimed at advancing the educator’s proficiency in delivering science education in schools. There are approximately two hours of required training and paperwork for participants before the program starts. 

BRITE 2024 Teacher’s Training Workshop will be supported by Lester and Sue Smith Breast Center at Baylor College of Medicine and the Sealy Center for Environmental Health and Medicine at University of Texas Medical Branch.
