Professional Interests
- Research interest in insulin signaling in chronic kidney disease, with clinical interests in glomerular diseases, acute kidney injury, and dialysis.
Professional Statement
Clinical areas of interest include acute and chronic kidney disease (CKD) and glomerular diseases of the kidney.Research interests include evaluating impaired insulin signaling in CKD and the metabolic consequences. The purpose of the proposed research is to investigate the intracellular signaling of insulin in response to CKD. The goal of which is to investigate therapeutic targets to improve insulin signaling and prevent the deleterious consequences of CKD-induced changes in skeletal and cardiac muscle metabolism.
