Ben Taub Hospital, a 650 licensed-bed acute care facility, is one of the only two Level 1 Trauma Centers in Harris County. This hospital is one of the nation's busiest trauma centers offering extensive inpatient and outpatient services to eligible Harris County citizens of all ages. Patients with acute and chronic illnesses and injuries provide ample opportunity for clinical and research activities.

Lyndon B. Johnson General Hospital is a 332 licensed-bed acute care facility verified as a Level 3 Trauma Center. This trauma center is only one of nine in the greater Houston area serving the needs of Northeast Harris County. Quentin Mease Community Hospital has 49 long-term beds. The medical staff is comprised of faculty and residents from Baylor College of Medicine for inpatient services.

Services Offered

  • Ben Taub Hospital. The service at Ben Taub Hospital provides an adult and pediatric inpatient consultation service and an inpatient electrodiagnostic testing service. Outpatient clinics include pediatric and multidisciplinary pediatric trauma.
  • Quentin Mease Community Hospital. At Quentin Mease Community Hospital, the service includes a 25 bed comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation unit, outpatient PM&R clinics, and electrodiagnostic laboratory for inpatients and outpatients. The service provides physiatric directed treatment programs for rehabilitation inpatients with follow-up as outpatients. Common conditions treated include stroke, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, multiple extremity traumas and amputations. Specialty PM&R clinics include amputee, brace and equipment, musculoskeletal and pain. Specialty electrodiagnostic services include Botox injections and motor point blocks.
