Research interest: Device-related infections, bioengineering and modification of implantable medical devices, antibiofilm strategies, and small-molecule antimicrobials

I have a long-standing interest in the pathogenesis, prevention, and treatment of device-associated infections with a concentration in the development of novel means to avert these infections, which remain a medical challenge and can lead to excessive morbidity, undue mortality, and increased healthcare costs.
