Interview

This year we are excited to return to in-person interviews in the world’s largest medical complex, the Texas Medical Center. The TMC member institutions work together to promote the highest standards of patient care, research and education.

Approximately 50 candidates will be selected for interview. The department Chair, Dr. Donald T. Donovan; Resident Program Director, Dr. Krista Olson, Associate Program Director, Dr. K. Kelly Gallagher, and selected members of the full-time clinical and research faculty participate in the interview and selection process. They will get the chance to hear from the program director and department chair and view presentations regarding the program, life in Houston, etc. In addition, applicants will be given an in-person tour of our world-renowned facilities including surgical, clinical, research, and academic. (One of the strengths of the program’s interview process is that it allows applicants to gain a better knowledge of the program in both a formal and informal setting.)

Interview dates include faculty one-on-one sessions, lunch and tours with residents, and Friday evening informal-social hosted at the home of a faculty member. Attendance is encouraged but optional.
