Clinical Laboratory Fellowship Admissions

For the Clinical Biochemical Genetics and the Laboratory Genetics & Genomics fellowships, we generally require applicants to have done at least two years of post-doctoral research (although occasionally individuals with exceptional credentials are considered).

We sponsor both J-1 and H-1B visas for individuals who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents. We generally have positions available every year.

July 1 - Aug. 31: Applications open
September - November: Interviews are conducted*
First Monday is December: Offer letters emailed
July 1 (following year): Program start date for diagnostic laboratory trainees

Individuals considering training should carefully review the ABMGG web site for information on "Training and Certification." Individuals whose doctoral degree is from an international institution (i.e. outside the United States, Canada or Puerto Rico) should review the ABMGG web site for information on "Foreign Medical Graduates Credentials Check" prior to submitting an application to a specific training program. To be considered for one of the above programs, you must submit ALL materials online by the posted deadline. Please do not mail original documents to the reviewing department.

For the online application, login is not required for external users and Baylor users NOT logged on the Baylor network. Login is required for Baylor internal users to access and submit Baylor public forms if logged on the Baylor network, including VPN.

If accepted, all non-U.S. citizens (including permanent residents/green card holders, pending immigrants, and non-immigrant visa holders) must contact the BCM International Services Office and communicate with one of the ISO representatives to verify your immigration status.
