About Us

The Allergy and Immunology Fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine offers the following training options:

  • Two-year program in Allergy and Immunology (medicine track)
  • Two or three-year program in Allergy and Immunology (pediatric track)
  • Four-year dual fellowship program in Allergy and Immunology and Rheumatology (medicine track)

Tracks

Both medicine and pediatric tracks offer in-depth clinical experiences in allergic and asthmatic diseases, congenital and acquired immunodeficiencies, and systemic inflammatory and immunologic disorders. Successful completion of the program provides eligibility to take the certification exam for the American Board of Allergy and Immunology.

Training

We offer training in the diagnosis and treatment of the following conditions:

Anaphylaxis

Asthma

Chronic rhinitis and sinusitis

Eczema

Food, drug, plant and environmental allergies

Immune deficiency (primary and secondary)

Chronic urticaria Angioedema

We further offer exposure to a wide variety of other chronic airway inflammatory conditions including emphysema, bronchiectasis, chronic bronchitis, pulmonary fibrosis, cystic fibrosis and many others. Our fellows further become expert in the following diagnostic techniques and procedures:

Allergen skin testing

Allergen immunotherapy

Drug allergy desensitization

Rhinoscopy

Chest computed tomography

Pulmonary function tests

Sinus computed tomography

Flow cytometry
