About the Lab
We are an energetic group of physicians and scientists seeking to answer a simple question: why do only a small subset of humans develop life-threatening infections or immune dysregulation? Using Homo sapiens as our primary model system, the one that matters most, we integrate human genetics and immunology to uncover the mechanisms that shape protective and pathological immune responses, with the goal of translating discovery into better diagnosis and therapy.
Principal Investigator
Dr. Rui (Ray) Yang is a board-certified pediatrician and incoming tenure-track assistant professor at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) and Texas Children's Hospital. His research focuses on monogenic causes of life-threatening infectious diseases, immune dysregulation and malignancies.
As a new and growing lab, we are looking for talented, curious, and energetic trainees, including postdoctoral fellows, graduate students, and undergraduate students, who are excited to push the frontiers of discovery and improve the lives of children and families affected by devastating inborn errors of immunity.
Please email Rui with your CV and a brief cover letter if you are interested. Positions may be opened when there is a strong fit between a candidate’s interests and the lab’s scientific directions.
