Wooton-Kee Lab Members

I was raised in Hyden, Kentucky. Being surrounded by the beautiful Appalachian hills inspired my interest in science and shaped many questions about the natural world. I received my B.S. degree in Chemistry and Biology from Union College (Barbourville, KY), M.S. degree in Biochemistry from the University of Louisville, and Ph.D. in Toxicology from the University of Kentucky.

I’m originally from Torreon, Coahuila Mexico, but I moved to Houston, Texas when I was only two years old. I graduated from Texas A&M University Kingsville with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture in Animal Science. From a very young age, I knew that I wanted a career in the science field that involved animal work. Outside of the lab, I enjoy dancing, exploring new places, trying new foods, and spending time with my family and dogs.
