Professional Statement

The goal of my lab is to form a quantitative narrative for fundamental processes in the living cell. This narrative will be based on precise measurements performed in individual cells, at the level of individual molecules and discrete events. To achieve this level of description, we are using a synthesis of approaches from multiple disciplines: methods from classical molecular biology and biochemistry; single-cell fluorescence microscopy; advanced image- and data analysis algorithms; theoretical biophysical modeling and stochastic simulations.
