Abdominal Transplantation Healthcare

The Division of Abdominal Transplantation combines an adult and pediatric liver and kidney transplant program that provides transplantation services across the Texas Medical Center - at Baylor St. Luke’s Abdominal Transplant & Liver Disease Clinic, Texas Children’s Hospital and the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center. Through our iSWAP program, candidates that have a living donor who is medically able, but not a compatible match to their intended recipient are able to be paired with another recipient in return for a kidney that is compatible with their intended recipient. Project E.C.H.O. (Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes) is a telehealth program that enables our specialists to coach primary care providers throughout the State of Texas, providing teleconferencing to enhance medical resources in communities that currently lack specialized care.
