Professional Statement
After moving to the Midwest at the age of 13, I attended Indiana University from 2018 to 2022 and graduated with a degree in Human Biology. I connected with my sister's pediatric genetic counselor during my freshman year of college, and our conversation inspired me to pursue a career in genetic counseling. I shared her passion for patient education, advocacy, and psychosocial support, and was particularly moved by her connection to her patients who came back to see her each year as part of a cohort study. After graduation, I pursued multiple roles in the intersection between clinic and research.
Currently, I am a genetic counseling student at Baylor College of Medicine, and I could not be more excited to dive deeper into the genetic counseling world. I'm interested in learning more about rare and pediatric-focused specialties, and I look forward to finding ways to tie research to my career. I am available to prospective students for questions!
