Professional Statement
Dr. Bautista-Hernandez is certified by the European Board of Cardiothoracic Surgery (EBCTS-EACTS) in both Pediatric/Congenital and Adult/Acquired Heart Surgery. He focuses in the management of neonates, children and adults with congenital heart disease. His main clinical interests includes newborn, minimally invasive and valve-sparing surgery. In addition, he specializes on adult/acquired heart surgery, including structural valve disease, coronary artery by-pass grafting. He's got also experience in heart and lung transplants and assist devices.
Dr. Bautista-Hernandez's research interests include evaluation of surgical outcomes and the role of mitochondrial alterations in patients with heart disease. He's co-author in more than 60 peer-review publications which gather more than 1200 citations in PubMED.
