Professional Statement

Most of the diseases we dread—cancer, heart disease, Alzheimer’s—are fundamentally diseases of aging. If we can strike at the upstream cause of these diseases, we stand to alleviate an unprecedented amount of human suffering. Throughout my training and my career, I'd like to investigate the mechanisms that drive somatic aging—and then develop therapies to slow or reverse it.

My current focus lies with understanding age-associated dyshomeostasis in hematopoietic stem cells.
