Professional Statement

My research interests include the epidemiology and natural history of oncogenic infectious diseases and prevention and screening of infection-related cancers. My work primarily involves risk stratification and screening for HPV-related oropharyngeal cancer to enable early detection and improve survival and quality of life. I am involved in validation studies of biomarkers for HPV-related cancers, in particular antibodies to HPV oncoproteins and circulating HPV DNA, as well as development and refinement of prognostic models for cancer.
