Professional Statement

Dr. Coss Bu's research activities include the measurement of energy requirements in critically ill children on ventilator support to provide customized nutritional plans in order to minimize the effects of critical illness on the development of malnutrition. Recently, Dr. Coss Bu is studying current nutritional practices in the pediatric intensive care unit to establish an evidence-based nutritional support by implementing tailored nutritional plans to critically ill children, including post surgical patients for congenital heart disease.. Dr. Coss-Bu is a member of multiple medical organizations and professional societies and at a national level serves as a member of committees at the American Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition and the Society of Pediatric Research. He has been leading a research team that have produced over 150 scientific publications including manuscripts, abstracts and book chapters. Dr. Coss-Bu has presented his research work in the area of nutrition and metabolism in more than 100 scientific events and invited to speak and present more than 200 scientific lectures in the US and worldwide
