In Dr. Groves' lab, I am using transgenic mice to investigate the molecular mechanisms that specify multi-potent lineages at the neural plate border. This region is critical in vertebrates, harboring the progenitor populations of the central and peripheral nervous systems, facial skeleton, cranial sensory organs, and epidermis.
