Professional Statement

Dr. Farrukh Virani has special interests in pediatric airway surgery, pediatric head and neck masses, sinonasal diseases, as well as complex sleep medicine, resulting in several peer-reviewed publications and ongoing contributions to two book chapters and additional projects. In addition, Dr. Virani has an interest in teaching and engaging in the process of resident and medical student education as well as designing resident curriculum. Beyond clinical practice, he has a strong interest in using the humanities and policy making to breed empathy and tolerance, as well as working towards improving the national health care system and access to care. Accordingly, he authored a chapter in a publication with the McGovern Center Humanities and Ethics detailing the experiences of early career physicians. Dr. Virani is also currently completing a Master of Public Health degree at the Harvard T.H. Chan School with the goal of advancing policy work for The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid.
