Professional Statement
Ana Maria Segura, M.D., MPH graduated from Universidad Javeriana Medical School, Bogota, Colombia. She completed post-graduate training in Surgical Pathology at the same institution and fellowships in Cytopathology (Harvard Medical School), Gastrointestinal Pathology (Baylor College of Medicine), Cardiovascular Pathology (Texas Heart Institute) and a master’s degree in public health (Tulane University). She worked as an Associate Research Investigator in Cardiovascular Pathology at Texas Heart institute for 17 years and now works as Senior Faculty in the department of Surgery, The Texas Heart Institute at Baylor College of Medicine.Her main areas of interest are heart failure, ventricular remodeling, transplantation, ventricular assist devices, aortic pathology and electrophysiology. Her work has been published in several peer-reviewed journals and has been presented at multiple national and international conferences.
