Dr. Adil S. Ahmed, M.D. is an Orthopedic Surgeon sub-specializing in Shoulder, Elbow, Hand and Nerve surgery in the Joseph Barnhart Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Baylor Medicine. He graduated from Texas Christian University with a degree in biology and attended medical school at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Ahmed completed his Orthopedic Surgery Residency at the University of South Florida in Tampa. He then completed fellowships in Hand & Upper Extremity Surgery at Emory University in Atlanta and Shoulder & Elbow Surgery at the Sydney Shoulder Research Institute in Sydney, Australia.

His clinical and research interests include shoulder replacement, shoulder instability, nerve repair and nerve transfers, tendon transfers, thoracic outlet syndrome, elbow replacement, upper limb trauma, and wrist arthritis. He treats the full spectrum of upper extremity conditions, from fingers to the shoulder blade, in addition to peripheral nerve disorders, brachial plexus injury and tetraplegia.

Outside of work he has been an avid martial artist for more than 18 years and enjoys spending time with family.
