The Bobby R. Alford Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery has provided excellence in healthcare, education and research for over 50 years. As leaders and innovators in the otolaryngology profession, our faculty is recognized locally, nationally and internationally for their efforts in all areas of ENT.
Daily, we strive for excellence and the ultimate standards set forth by Dr. Alford, which include high-quality care, patient safety, honest work and personal integrity. In addition, we equip medical students and postgraduate biomedical scientists with educational opportunities to become outstanding clinicians, surgeons and researchers.

Research
Our department conducts research on basic, clinical and translational projects concerning areas of the head and neck. Support for these projects comes from a variety of sources, including competitive awards from the NIH and research foundations.
