November 2017: Hamed was selected as the recipient of the 2017 Glycobiology Significant Achievement Award by the Society for Glycobiology and Oxford University Press. Each year, this award is given to a new or mid-career scientist who has "made a key discovery during their early careers with the potential to have a substantial impact on the glycoscience community". The award ceremony and presentation was held during the Annual Meeting of the Society for Glycobiology in Portland, Oregon.
