Professional Statement

My clinical and research work is focused on the identification, assessment, and treatment of anxiety disorders, posttraumatic stress disorder, and obsessive compulsive disorder. I use mixed qualitative and quantitative methods to evaluate the effectiveness and implementation of innovations in the delivery of evidence-based mental health care.

Pilot Testing ERP for OCD Delivered via Video to the Home for Rural Veterans
Grant funding from South Central Mental Illness, Research, Education, and Clinical Center
This pilot grant examines video telehealth delivery of exposure and response prevention (ERP) for obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) in Veterans. Primary outcomes include feasibility, acceptability, and preliminary outcomes (reduction in OCD symptoms), and examination of whether comorbid PTSD impacts treatment.
Identifying Psychiatric Diagnostic Errors in the Electronic Health Record
Grant funding from MEDVAMC Seed Grant
The goal of this project is to adapt a structured electronic medical record review tool, the Safer Dx Instrument, to evaluate errors in psychiatric diagnoses.
