Professional Statement

My research investigates the causes of congenital and neurodevelopmental disorders, as well as embryonal tumors, through a multidisciplinary approach. I employ genetic engineering, functional genomics, live-cell imaging, high-content and high-throughput screening, preclinical models, nutritional science, and epidemiology to uncover the mechanisms underlying birth defects. Currently, my work centers on preclinical toxicity testing, cell-based analyses of early embryonic development, the generational impacts of reproductive and developmental toxicants, and the role of nutrition in preventing preventable birth defects.
