Dr. Larry H. Hollier, Jr. is a board-certified plastic surgeon who specializes in plastic and reconstructive surgery. He is a Professor of Plastic Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery and Pediatrics. He serves as the Baron Hardy Chair of Plastic Surgery and as the Surgeon in Chief and Chair of the Department of Surgery at Texas Children’s Hospital. He is also a Vice Chair of Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine.
Dr. Hollier is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP). His professional memberships also include the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, American Cleft Palate Association, American Society of Maxillofacial Surgery, Houston Society of Plastic Surgeons, and the International Society of Craniofacial Surgery. Dr. Hollier is on the editorial boards of numerous scientific journals, including the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Journal, for which he serves as section editor for pediatric and craniofacial plastic surgery.
Dr. Hollier currently serves as Chairman of the Medical Advisory Board for Smile Train, an international children’s charity that provides training, funding, and resources to empower local doctors in over 90 developing countries to deliver free cleft repair surgery and comprehensive cleft care in their own communities. He also serves on the Advisory Board of the Duke Global Health Institute. Dr. Hollier has authored more than 250 articles for scholarly and professional publications, written 37 book chapters, and made dozens of presentations to professional audiences worldwide on a full range of topics related to plastic and reconstructive surgery. In 2016, Dr. Hollier was named the Press Ganey Physician of the Year for his leadership in improving the Patient Experience at Texas Children’s Hospital, where he has served patients for 25 years.
