Paul Klotman, M.D., president, CEO and executive dean of the College and alumni association president Charles Neblett, M.D., Class of 1965, presented the awards at the Alumni Awards Ceremony, held Thursday, May 12, 2016, ahead of the Alumni Reunion Weekend activities. The following individuals were honored:
Cynthia Dukes, P.A.-C. ‘83, vice president of Global Project management at ICON Clinical Research, received the Distinguished Alumnus Award from the School of Allied Health Sciences.
Fielding Hejtmancik, M.D. ’78, Ph.D. ’76, chief of the Ophthalmic Molecular Genetics Section of the Ophthalmic Genetics and Visual function Branch at the National Eye Institute, received the Distinguished Alumnus Award from the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences.
David Green, M.D. ’62, clinical professor in the Department of Orthopedics at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, received the Distinguished Alumnus Award for the Medical School.
Sanjeev A. Vasudevan, M.D. ’09 (Resident), assistant professor of Surgery and Pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine, received the Young Alumnus Award.
Marie Berkenkamp, M.D. ’85, pediatric emergency medicine doctor in San Antonio, received the Humanitarian Award.
Meagan Barry received the Lehmann Outstanding student Award for the graduate school.
Jebran Haddad received the Lehmann Outstanding Student Award for the medical school.
Herman Suit, M.D. ’52, Ph.D., D.Phil., professor emeritus of Radiation Oncology at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital, received the Lifetime Achievement Award.
