Cardiovascular Research Institute

About the Center

The Cardiovascular Research Institute (CVRI) is built on a legacy of cardiovascular research. Founded in 2012, the CVRI serves as an avenue for increased collaborative research efforts, development of cutting edge cardiovascular clinical technologies, and enhanced educational programs. The center operates under six major research focus areas and boasts over 500 members comprised of basic science research faculty, clinicians, fellows, and pre- and postdoctoral trainees spanning throughout institutions in the Texas Medical Center. Today, the CVRI offers three Graduate School courses, a seminar series, annual symposium, and supports new research and clinical applications through awarded pilot grants. With a clear vision to become a global leader in cardiovascular research, medicine, an education, the CVRI is committed to shaping the future of cardiovascular science.
