Research is a valuable component in the scientist-practitioner model. To contribute to the research guiding patient care, the Neuropsychology section conducts their own research projects and collaborates with several BCM departments and their research efforts.
The faculty members have been successful in obtaining internal and external research funding from the National Institutes of Health, VA Health Services Research and Development, and foundation grants. The faculty members have presented their research work at national and international conferences and have published over 60 scientific articles and book chapters since 1999.
Frequent collaborators include the Alzheimer’s Disease and Memory Disorder Clinic, the Menninger Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and the Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders Clinic.
