Application Information

Content

All applications for the Baylor College of Medicine Adult Neurology Residency Program should be made using the Electronic Residency Application Service.

The Neurology match uses the National Residency Matching Program. You can access the NRMP website or call (202) 826-0676.

The Baylor College of Medicine neurology residency has 10 positions available each year for a categorical four-year neurology program (which includes a PGY1 year devoted heavily to internal medicine training and fulfills the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology requirements for neurology board certification). Applicants do not need to apply separately to the Baylor College of Medicine Preliminary/Internal Medicine program.

We do not have any advanced positions for those who have already completed a PGY1 year elsewhere.

The Department of Neurology will extend invitations to candidates for a virtual meeting with the faculty.

Information for Non-U.S. Applicants (IMG)

Content

All applications should be sent through ERAS. The program will sponsor J-1 visas.

Evidence of clinic experience in the United States (e.g., observerships) is preferred. IMG candidates must be ECFMG certified. Applicants invited for interviews have passed all their USMLE Steps (including the Clinical Skills examination) on the first try and have very high three-digit scores on all USMLE steps. However, there are no absolute USMLE score cut-offs. For all applicants, we made interview decisions based on a combination of factors, including USMLE scores, recommendation letters, clinical experience, and other factors such as research, community service, etc.
