Possible Signs
Present about three months or more after sex. Small, hard, painless bumps may appear inside or around vagina, penis, anus, or mouth. Bumps can develop tops that look like cauliflower. Many people infected with HPV have no symptoms. If symptoms appear, they may be mild.
Possible Results
Difficultly in childbirth. Some HPV types lead to genital warts and some lead to cervical cancer. STD test checks for the HPV that causes genital warts. Our pap smear tests check for the HPV that causes cervical cancer.
Treatment
There is no cure for HPV, but warts can be treated. A positive HPV test does not mean you have cervical cancer.
