Andrabi honored for EM leadership

Dr. Sara AndrabiDr. Sara Andrabi, assistant professor of emergency medicine and assistant residency program director, received the Rising Star Award from the American Association of Women Emergency Physicians. The award recognizes a junior female EM attending who has shown exceptional leadership in the field through advocacy, administration, education or research.

Cloud technology in clinical genomics

Discover how the Human Genome Sequencing Center at Baylor has rapidly validated and migrated to a hybrid cloud solution for the All of Us Research program, funded by the NIH at "Building a Resilient, Scalable Clinical Genomics Pipeline in the Cloud," July 29, 11 a.m. This will be presented by Noora Siddiqui, cloud engineer at BCM. Blood drive

Donate blood at the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center drive, Tuesday, Aug. 3, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., in Rayzor Lounge at main Baylor. Donors will receive a voucher for a free pint of Blue Bell ice cream. Appointments required.

Faculty mentors sought for first-gen students

The BCM student interest group FirstGen, M.D. seeks faculty members to serve as mentors to medical students who are the first in their family to attend medical school. Any interested faculty members, and particularly those who were first-generation medical students themselves, should complete this form for participation in the program for the 2021-2022 academic year.

T32 fellowships in cardiovascular research

The Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery T32 research training program in cardiovascular surgery is open for applications. Ideal candidates are M.D.s and Ph.D.s interested in cardiovascular research. Learn more about training curriculum, training tracks, faculty mentors list, stipend and eligibility criteria. Employee clinic open

The dedicated healthcare clinic for BCM employees and dependents, a collaboration of Baylor Medicine and Vera Whole Health, is now open and taking appointments! Located on the 12th floor of Baylor Clinic, it is built on the advanced primary care model that offers longer appointments, empathetic listening by healthcare providers and insight on whole patient health, including risk identification through informatics, health coaching and more. Veggie study participants needed

Adults in good health, age 18 to 65 years, are needed for a study to see if a rapid, optical skin test can measure how many servings of fruits and vegetables participants consume. Participants will consume 6 or 12 ounces of a provided juice daily for 6 weeks and must commit to three 90-minute visits for height, weight, body fat, and optical skin measurements, blood draw and food surveys.
