Professional Statement
Dysregulation of the development of progenitor cells during fetal development, early childhood, or even adulthood can significantly contribute to congenital malformations and the development of chronic diseases, such as heart disease, obesity, and type II diabetes. My research program focuses on understanding the origin of adipocytes, developing novel strategies to trace and isolate different types of adipocyte progenitor cells, and investigating the nutritional control of the development and function of these progenitor cells under physiological and pathological conditions.Websites
