Professional Statement
Dr. Jayer Chung came to Houston from The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center where he was an Assistant Professor and most recently the Co-Medical Director at The University of Texas Southwestern Wound Center. During his time in Dallas, Dr. Chung also served as the Chief of Vascular Surgery at Parkland Memorial Hospital for 5 years prior to assuming the position at the University. He also received his Masters of Clinical Science from the Southwestern Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences while in Dallas. He is re-locating with his wife, Ngoc My Nguyen Chung and two children. Dr. Chung completed his General Surgery training at the University of Colorado Health and Sciences Center, and his Vascular Surgery fellowship at Emory School of Medicine, where he was trained in the latest endovascular techniques as well as traditional open Vascular Surgery. Dr. Chung’s clinical interests include limb salvage, diabetic foot ulceration, carotid occlusive disease, thoracic and abdominal aortic aneurysmal disease, aortic graft infections, renovascular hypertension, mesenteric ischemia, venous and arterial thoracic outlet syndrome, and chronic deep venous thrombosis.Websites
