Dr. LeMaire Named Chair of NLM Literature Selection Technical Review
Dr. Scott A. LeMaire, professor of surgery, in the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine, has been appointed to serve as Chair of the Literature Selection Technical Review Committee of the U.S. National Library of Medicine by Dr. Francis Collins, Director of the National Institutes of Health, for the one-year term from July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021.
The LSTRC is a federal advisory committee that was established in 1987. The LSTRC meets three times a year to review and recommend journals for inclusion in MEDLINE. MEDLINE is the NLM premier bibliographic database that contains more than 25 million references to journal articles in life sciences with a concentration on biomedicine. The LSTRC recommendation is based on a journal’s scientific content, quality, importance, editorial policies, and subject matter.
