The Goodnight Screen Media Study (H-52269)
Description
What is the aim of this study?
Looking for parents and children aged 4 years old to join! We are recruiting families who are interested in helping us understand how sleep, memory, and attention are affected by the timing of screen media use before bedtime.
Who is eligible?
Parents of 4 year olds, and their child, male and female, all ethnicities.
Your Study Involvement:
This study was developed to determine the effect of children's evening screen media use on children's sleep and melatonin levels (sleep hormone). We will assess your child’s sleep and tablet use over the course of 3 weeks. During this period, there will be 3 in-center visits at the Children’s Nutrition Research Center (CNRC) where we will measure children’s heights, weights and melatonin levels via saliva samples, learning and memory skills. Two of the visits will be overnight visits.
You will receive:
- Compensations totaling up to $510 provided via MasterCard (ClinCard) and rewards
- Free on-site parking
- Free meals for in-person visits
