About the Program
The Baylor College of Medicine Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship holds accreditation by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education since 2008. Our program is a one-year (PGY-5) training program providing a comprehensive and evidence-based education in the treatment and research of addictive disorders. Fellows will develop expertise and knowledge in the evaluation, intervention and treatment of addiction using systems-based practice throughout the continuum of care. This is accomplished in collaboration with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals. Successful completion of the program will qualify fellows to sit for the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology’s certification examination in the subspecialty of addiction psychiatry. We have a 100 percent pass rate for Addiction Psychiatry (ABPN) Board Examination.
The fellowship offers rich experiences in multidisciplinary clinical care as well as clinical research within a broad network of faculty investigators affiliated with Baylor College of Medicine. Fellows may also conduct optional research projects related to the field of addiction psychiatry.
