We have a strong foundation established by pioneers in PM&R since our department’s inception in 1957. Through generations of trainees, alumni, and faculty, we carry on a proud tradition of advancing clinical care, research, and education in the field of PM&R.
Our residency program strives to remain dynamic and relevant to the continuous evolution of our specialty. We are committed to the core values of Baylor College of Medicine- respect, integrity, innovation, teamwork, and excellence. Fostering an inclusive training environment is a cornerstone of our mission, as we believe such an environment is vital to our goal of training future physiatrists who will lead and best serve the needs of our patients and the community – locally, nationally, and internationally.
We invite you to peruse this website to get acquainted with our residency program, faculty, and partnering institutions. We are confident that our graduates will be well prepared for clinical practice after receiving broad exposure to different practice settings, including a county hospital, veterans affairs medical center, and private clinics, allowing for the development of a diverse skillset that can be adapted to almost any circumstance. With the world’s largest medical center as our home, being a part of the BCM family provides tremendous opportunities for our residents to further their personal and professional development.
