Specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of adult and pediatric patients with allergy, asthma and primary or secondary immune dysfunction, Allergy and Immunology faculty treat the expanding spectrum of complex allergic and immunologic diseases, including:

The Allergy and Immunology service cares for children with deficient and/or excessive immune systems. We specialize in immunodeficiency disorders, food allergy, and immune-based therapies, and provide continuous patient-centered inpatient and outpatient care.
Education
With more than 20 years of continuous external-sponsored funding of basic and clinical research, we offer training in the most current treatment of allergic and immunological disorders. The faculty is composed of experts in the use of:

Research
The service maintains vibrant clinical and basic scientific research programs relating to immune-mediated diseases, providing a variety of research and treatment options for infants, children and adolescents with food allergies, primary immunodeficiency, eosinophilic gastrointestinal disease and HIV infection through the Consortium of Food Allergy Research, the Consortium of Gastrointestinal Disease Researchers, the Primary Immune Deficiency Treatment Consortium and the International Maternal Pediatric Adolescent AIDS Clinical Trials Group, all sponsored by the National Institutes of Health. We conduct basic science through the William T Shearer Center for Human Immunobiology as well as clinical trials research for children, adolescents, adults with allergic and immunologic diseases, pregnant women and children with HIV infection in collaboration with other Baylor College of Medicine researchers and other national institutions.
