Division Overview
Pediatric Palliative Care
The Texas Children's Hospital Pediatric Advanced Care Team is an interdisciplinary team comprised of attending physicians, physicians in training, a nurse, chaplain, social worker, grief and bereavement specialist, nurse practitioner, and administrators who work together to provide excellent palliative care to patients and their families across the Texas Children’s Institution.
The PACT team is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to provide care in either the inpatient or outpatient setting in partnership with other healthcare providers.
Pediatric Palliative Care provides an additional layer of interdisciplinary support for patients and families with chronic, complex or life-threatening illnesses.
Awards and Recognitions
Pediatric palliative care faculty named as visionaries
Dr. Tammy Kang, professor of pediatrics and division chief for pediatric palliative care and Dr. Jared Rubenstein, associate professor of pediatrics and Pediatric Palliative Care Fellowship Program director, were recognized by the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine as Visionaries in Hospice and Palliative Care in recognition of their exemplary contributions to the field of hospice and palliative medicine.
