EMS for Children State Partnership Crew of the Year Award
National EMS for Children Day places a spotlight on the delivery of high-quality emergency medical care for children, focusing on the unique needs of critically ill or injured pediatric patients and the challenges faced by EMS professionals in meeting those needs. In honor of EMS for Children Day the Texas EMS for Children State Partnership presents the EMS for Children Crew of the Year Award. This award is granted to an EMS crew or station who has displayed outstanding care for a child in an emergency medical or trauma event, demonstrated exceptional effort in the development of pediatric training or quality improvement programs, or was instrumental in planning and conducting creative injury prevention programs.
2024 EMSC Crew of the Year Award - Montgomery County Hospital District EMS
The 2024 EMSC Crew of the Year Award was presented to Alarm Medic II, Kellie Gonzalez; In-Charge Paramedic, David Ikard; In-Charge Paramedic, Jeremy Cattoor; Captain, Kelsie Adams; District Chief, April Currie; Captain of Quality Improvement, Brad Ward; and Deputy Chief, Tamella Welch of the Montgomery County Hospital District EMS for displaying exceptional care of a child in an emergency medical event.
2023 EMSC Crew of the Year Award - Wilson County ESD 4
The 2023 EMSC Crew of the Year Award was presented to Captain EMT, Lee Posey; FTO EMT Pete Balderas; LP Kevin Ford; EMT Scott Calame, and Paramedic Zachary Ramirez for displaying exceptional effort in the care of a child in an emergency medical event.
2022 EMSC Crew of the Year Award – Galveston Area Ambulance Authority
The 2022 EMSC Crew of the Year Award was presented to Paramedics Margaret Williams and Bradley Starkey of the Galveston Area Ambulance Authority for demonstrating exceptional effort in the development of a pediatric quality improvement program. This included developing an EMS specific pediatric epidemiology tracking system that they integrated into the Galveston County Health Districts reporting system and surveillance reports. This system allowed them to make changes to specialty equipment and different medications for their pediatric COVID population.
