About the Center
Established in 2012, the Texas Children's Hospital Center for Research, Innovation and Scholarship is one of the first medical education centers in the nation in a freestanding children's hospital. CRIS fosters diverse opportunities for residents, fellows and medical faculty members to conduct scholarly research about teaching, experiment with innovative approaches and implement best practices.
Our Guiding Principles
As leaders in medical education-related research, innovation and scholarship, we are grounded in the following principles:
Engage: We are committed to engaging faculty, trainees and Texas Children's Hospital leadership in the educational issues that matter to them.
Collaborate: We are committed to creating a local community of educators and being a hub for scholarship at regional, national and international levels.
Guide: We are committed to facilitating the growth of faculty and trainees and to supporting their academic endeavors.
These principles frame our efforts and practice, and align with Texas Children's larger mission to support excellence in education.
