Grand Round Series Overview
Target Audience and Needs
Hematologist-oncologists, radiation oncologists, surgeons, other medical specialists, basic and translational research scientists, residents, fellows, and medical students need to be regularly updated on advances in the diagnosis and management of patients with hematologic disorders and related malignancies. The series aims to broaden the knowledge base of learners in these topic areas and improve their competencies to enhance the patient care experience and outcomes.
Educational Methods
- Educational methods will include lectures and literature review.
Objectives
- At the conclusion of the sessions, the participants should be able to:
- Describe the pathophysiology and epidemiology of hematologic and related cancers.
- Identify the challenges in diagnosing and managing specific hematologic cancers or their disease-related complications.
- Identify the optimal standard-of-care approach for managing specific hematologic and related cancers.
- Apply evidence-based findings from clinical trials to improve the standard of care.
Evaluation
- Participants may be asked to complete a session evaluation.
