What is the Texas Children’s Global Health Network?
Established as BIPAI in 1999 to catalyze access to pediatric HIV treatment in sub-Saharan Africa and Romania, Texas Children’s Global Health Network has grown into one of the world’s largest providers of pediatric HIV care and treatment. From an initial focus on combating the global HIV epidemic, the network has expanded its mission to include a broad range of maternal and child health services. In 2023 alone, our network of local implementing partners reached more than 5.7 million people, delivering lifesaving care and capacity building across the globe.
As a resident in our program, you will be embedded within this network, gaining meaningful, hands-on clinical experience that will equip you to address the critical health needs of children and families in resource-limited settings. Our network provides an ideal platform for residents to understand what healthcare delivery in resource-limited settings looks like and to develop the expertise needed to become leaders in global child health. Residents benefit from the rich, decades-long partnerships between Baylor College of Medicine, Texas Children’s Hospital and the Texas Children’s Global Health Network sites.
