The Flow Cytometry Facility provides multi-parameter cellular analysis and viability assessment using state-of-the-art equipment:
- BDIS Canto-I, 2 laser-6 color cytometer
- BDIS Canto-II, 3 laser-8 color cytometer
- BDIS FACScan, 1 laser-3 color cytometer
- BDIS Lyse-Wash Assistant (X3)
Qualifications
- Accredited by the College of American Pathologists
- CLIA certified as a high-complexity laboratory
- Served as reference laboratory for National Marrow Donor Program
Staff Experience
The staff offers experience in:
- Evaluation of CD34+ stem cells in peripheral blood, bone marrow, and umbilical cord blood
- Qualitative and quantitative assessment of specific cellular doses for transplant
- Analysis of the efficacy of cell-specific purging and selection procedures
- Immunophenotyping of therapeutic cell populations used in clinical trials
- Evaluation of immune reconstitution of patients following infusion of grafts and therapeutic cell populations
- Assistance in the development and implementation of new cell processing and culture procedures
Additional Services
Additional services include:
- Analysis and interpretation of data
- Provide final reports including statistical analysis, graphic and visual interpretation
- Establishment and maintenance of protocol-specific databases
- Development of prediction algorithms for cell-specific collection, purging and selection procedures
- Provision of training for visiting investigators and technical staff who are establishing stem cell laboratories
