Important Notes about Cabling Service

Content

Once the requisite information is received, Telecommunications Services will work to complete the request within five business days.

Note: Occasionally, there are circumstances beyond Baylor’s control that will prolong the installation of new cables (asbestos abatement, non Baylor-owned properties, etc.). In those cases, Telecommunications will keep the customer informed of the order status.

When the survey is completed, BCM’s cabling contractor will process the request. A blueprint may be required for multiple cables. When their work is complete, the contractor will notify the Telecommunications Services team for final processing and notification of the customer.

Note: A 8-foot station cable is included in all new network cable installations. Additional network patch cables are available in 10-foot and 15-foot lengths using the same process. A cost center and authorized signature must be provided on all forms.
