Oncology FISH Analysis- Multiple Myeloma IgH Rearrangement FISH Panel
Multiple Myeloma IGH Reflex FISH Panel | Oncology FISH Analysis - Multiple Myeloma IGH Reflex FISH Panel |
||
---|---|---|
Test Information: | The Multiple Myeloma IGH Reflex FISH Panel is performed when IGH is rearranged. This panel is used to identify the IGH partner gene in myeloma, which may have prognostic impact. Results of this test must always be interpreted in the context of relevant clinical and pathological data, and should not be used alone for a diagnosis of malignancy. When ordered with the Multiple Myeloma FISH Panel (test code 8015), this test will only be performed if IGH is rearranged or if we are notified that the patient has a previous IGH rearrangement. NOTE: Plasma cell enrichment will be performed on bone marrow samples unless otherwise instructed or if the plasma cell population is below acceptable levels for enrichment. Samples should be submitted within 72 hours of collection. It is recommended that flow cytometry and pathology reports accompany the sample to help assess the plasma cell population. If enriched samples are insufficient to complete the full panel, Baylor Genetics will prioritize the FGFR3/IGH t(4;14) probe. |
