Product of Conception(POC) tests should be requested using the Cytogenetics - Products of Conception Requisition

Special Notes: We require that the referring center consult with our laboratory regarding prenatal cases prior to submitting any samples. Our genetic counselors are available for consultation and coordination of prenatal testing.

Fetal cell cultures will be maintained in the laboratory for seven (7) days after the final report has been issued. If additional testing is not requested within that time, the fetal cultures will be discarded.
Technical Information
Methodology: Standard methodology is used for G-banded chromosome analysis.

Test Requisition: Prenatal Comprehensive
Specimen Type: CVS
Requirements: Collect 15+ mg CVS in sterile tissue culture media.
Shipping Conditions: Ship the sample at room temperature to the laboratory by overnight express. Specimen should arrive in the laboratory within 48 hrs of sample date. Specimen cannot be frozen.
