Test Includes:	This test detects numerical abnormalities of chromosomes 13, 18, 21, X and Y.
Special Notes:	A normal aneuploidy screen does not rule out mosaicism for aneuploidy, structural rearrangements, or deletions of chromosomes. Chromosome analysis or Chromosomal Microarray Analysis is required on every patient sample referred for aneuploidy screening by FISH.

Test Requisition:	Prenatal CMA and Cytogenetics
Specimen Type:	Amniotic Fluid
Requirements:	Collect 20-30 cc of fluid in two sterile 15 ml conical centrifuge tubes. Discard the first 2 cc of fluid collected.
Shipping Conditions:	Ship the sample at room temperature to the laboratory by overnight express. Specimen should arrive in the laboratory within 48 hrs of sample date. Specimen cannot be frozen.

Requirements:	2 T25 flask grown to 60-70% confluency.
