PMS2 Immunohistochemistry
PMS2-Related Hereditary Non-Polyposis Colon Cancer | PMS2-Related Turcot Syndrome | Hereditary Non-Polyposis Colon Cancer | Turcot Syndrome | PMS2-Related Muir-Torre Syndrome | Muir-Torre Syndrome | HNPCC - Associated Microsatellite Instability
Test Information: This test is used to screen patients suspected to have an inherited cancer syndromes involving the DNA mismatch repair (MMR) process, such as Hereditary Non-Polyposis Colorectal Cancer (HNPCC / Lynch Syndrome) or confirm a clinical diagnosis.

This test evaluates the expression of the mismatch repair (MMR) protein PMS2 in tumor tissue by immunohistochemical (IHC) staining; absence of expression (no staining) for PMS2 suggests a molecular defect responsible for mismatch repair deficiency.
Test Details
Test Code: 9806
Test Includes: Immunohistochemical staining for the PMS2 protein in tumor tissue.

Special Notes: A copy of the Pathology Report MUST be included.
Technical Information
Methodology: Immunohistochemistry using the A16-14 antibody (Biocare).
Gene Name: PMS2
Protein Name: Mismatch repair endonuclease PMS2; DNA mismatch repair protein PMS2
