Project: Definition of the role of the bHLH transcription factor Math1 in neuronal development.

The aim of the project is to define the function of the transcription factor Math1 in the development of the central nervous system by:

  • identifying the molecular mechanisms underlying the transcriptional activity of Math1.
  • finding the target genes of Math1 in order to reveal the transcriptional network that regulate neural progenitor proliferation and differentiation.
  • using transgenic mice to validate in vitro discoveries in in vivo models of neuronal development.
